Japan's most famous overlooked dish is okonomiyaki, essentially an omelette that can have any variety of vegetables, seafood and/or meat, its name meaning "grill what you like." At Bloomsbury dining spot Abeno it's their speciality, and with hot plates built into each table you can watch as a member of staff layers the ingredients, theatrically flips and garnishes before your eyes. Elsewhere on the menu are soba (buckwheat) noodles, fillet steak sashimi and a very decent selection of sake, shochu and Japanese whiskies.
