Where: Murger Han
Fear not, we don't mean a burger that's been left to fester over the millenia, rather that the peeps at Murger Han say their "murger" is the world's first hamburger, with the bun having been created around 200 BC during the Chinese Qin dynasty. Made from wheat flour batter, it's a flatter version than we're accustomed to seeing, while there's a choice of slow cooked pork or stewed beef for the patty. Specialising in street food from Xi’an, the city famous for its buried Terracota Army, they also put their star dish to good use in soups, such as the stir fried murger soup with chilli sauce, beef and egg.
