It turns out that chocolate has quite a history. As well as playing an important part in the slave trade it was once considered a drug, and in fact this is how Europeans first came to know it. These are some of the facts that form part of the Chocolate Museum's fascinating exhibits, where you can not only learn about but also taste and even make one of the world's most popular foods.

Workshops include truffle-making sessions for children, and how to use chocolate as paint. Entry to the museum is free.
