The Odeon cinema in Islington is not your usual chain multiplex, as they've decided to combine movie-going with a meal, ordered via an app and delivered to your seat in the auditorium. It's not a new concept for the Odeon, as they previously tried this at their now defunct Whiteley's shopping centre branch with food by Rowleigh Leigh of Le Cafe Anglais. That didn't work out, so time will tell whether it'll be more popular in north London.
The food is upmarket comfort food, so you'll find things like wild boar hot dogs with skin on fries and wagyu beef burgers, along with Veuve Cliquot champagne. Naturally, the chairs are reclinable and have more legroom than usual, for that added VIP experience.
