The Best 100 Restaurants in London

London's best restaurants' ratings and awards in one simple list

The Ledbury
127 Ledbury Road, London, W11 2AQ

About
Australian head chef Brett Graham has been pivotal in the Ledbury’s tremendous success. It has two Michelin stars, has topped the Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurant List and Restaurant’s National Restaurant Awards, and received high praise from a whole host of publications and blogs, (as well as being crowned #1 in All in London’s Ultimate Restaurant List 2012 - 2015). With restaurateur Nigel Platts-Martin and Philip Howard as co-owners - Howard is also chef and co-owner of sister restaurant the Square - and Graham’s flare in the kitchen; this is widely regarded as London’s best restaurant.

Food is heavily influenced by French cuisine, and clever flavour pairings are key. Décor is kept to a minimum but is still elegant, and perfect spacing between tables ensures diners enjoy a fair amount of privacy during their meal.

Gordon Ramsay
68 Royal Hospital Road, London, SW3 4HP

About
He may appear in headlines more often for courting controversy than for his food these days, but his flagship restaurant, which he opened in 1998 at the age of 31, was awarded three Michelin stars within its first three years, which it has retained to this day. This is also the restaurant most visitors to London have heard of due to Ramsay’s high profile as a celebrity chef.

In October 2015 long-standing and brilliant Chef-patron Clare Smyth announced her resignation (whilst retaining an advisory role), as she plans her own restaurant opening. Her Head-chef of two years Matt Abe has since taken over the helm. The menu is modern French and features many of Ramsay’s dishes re-interpreted by Smyth and now increasingly with Abe's influence. Aside from the à la carte there is the very luxurious Prestige Menu if you can fork out the £125 a head not including wine. Styled by David Collins, almost everything in the dining room is white with the exception of the sparkly chandeliers; it’s elegant and romantic.
