West Ham Park

Park in

West Ham Park is the borough of Newham’s main green space, with over 77 acres of land. The park contains a bandstand which hosts live music events in the summer, various ornamental gardens, and different flower nurseries. Sporting fans can make use of tennis courts, a football pitch, cricket field and an athletics track; there is also a playground for children. The park is managed by the City of London corporation, who place great emphasis on the sustainability and development of the park’s flora. School visits often take place as well as guided walks and talks and a dedicated team look after the glasshouses where new species of plant are encouraged to grow. If on the other hand you’re not overly interested in horticulture, the park is simply a great place to enjoy a picnic on a sunny day.
