Westfield Stratford City opened in 2011, becoming one of the largest shopping centres in both the UK and Europe. In the run-up to the 2012 Olympics Westfield was part of Stratford regeneration’s promotional campaign, as the brand new gleaming mall which promised new jobs and services. In terms of shops, every high street brand you can think of is here, from H&M and Topshop to Boots, Curry’s and John Lewis. Unlike its sibling in Shepherd’s Bush there is no “designer village” here, but that doesn’t mean there’s a shortage of higher end stores like Boss, Mulberry, The Kooples and Armani Jeans
should you wish to splurge. There are almost 80 eateries and coffee shops, many of which are well-known chains, and should that not be enough amusement there’s a Vue cinema, a bowling alley, a casino and a Premier Inn in case you miss the last tube home.
