This work synthesizes images from urban life that give an indication of how a global society navigates through daily life and culture. The piece “PEAK” intends to function as a postcard of a cultural position that reflects scenes and relationships common in contemporary life.
The time when we could differentiate culture within a geopolitical frame is coming to an end. This work is the result of observation and meditation on a global culture and way of living that transcends borders and travel. In “SSHHH BENDING IN PROCESS” we find a reflection of an image replicated around the globe.
There are juxtapositions and even contradictions in this body of work. Line projections function in a more abstract way. It intends to create an experience. It isn’t about what it says but about what it does.
The work in this exhibition doesn’t seek to make a socio political statement or reach a conclusion. It is rather an observation, a perception of the present time in urban life. It isn’t either a definite or totalitarian view instead a reflection on a fraction of what constitutes the complex landscape of the present time in our global society.
