This year’s Deloitte Ignite will be curated by actor, writer, presenter and opera fan Stephen Fry. Entitled Verdi/Wagner, the festival will celebrate the joint bicentenary of musical greats Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner, exploring the composers and their music in innovative and creative ways.
Unlike in previous years, this Deloitte Ignite will be spread across four weekends rather than just one, and include live radio broadcasts, workshops and pop-up performances inspired by Verdi and Wagner.

Simon Callow turns his attention to the life and legacy of one of opera’s most influential figures in a one-man show.
The Ring Cyclotrope
6-30 September
For the whole month of September Covent Garden is the home for an innovative kinetic installation created by renowned theatre designer Es Devlin.
BBC Radio 3 Music Matters
14th September
A live broadcast of BBC Radio 3’s Music Matters takes place in the Clore Studio Upstairs. In the spirit of this year’s festival theme, Tom Service presents a programme focussing on the music of Verdi and Wagner with special guests.
