Latvian director Raisa Breslava has launched a new devised theatre production called WIMP, due to open on September 17th 2013 at Caroline Gardens Chapel in Peckham, also known as Asylum.
Funded by Arts Council England and already a successful Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign, WIMP is directed by a woman and performed by one-man and shamelessly expresses & celebrates what it means to be a man in today's world.
WIMP is an exploration and celebration of all sides of a man, focusing on the more taboo and culturally hidden characters that live within us all. As WIMP attempts to physicalise the internal world of a man, his internal battles, confusions, awkwardness, frustration, fear and sensitivities through the movement of one man, it also asks the question ‘WHAT IS IT TO BE A MAN IN 2013?’
