Fresh from their successful ★★★★ run at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, exciting theatre company Invertigo transfer to London's Arcola Theatre with Outside on the Street.
1945: Sergeant Beckmann arrives home in Germany, utterly altered. Throw yourself into his world of darkly comic, grotesque characters. Written in just six days after escaping from a prisoner of war camp and walking 370 miles back to Hamburg, Wolfgang Borchert’s vivid interpretation of his own story shines a light on the aftermath of war. Winners of both the Pleasance's Charlie Hartill Special Reserve and the Scottish Daily Mail Commendation Prize, Invertigo’s production sees an all-male ensemble confront this challenging European drama, directed by Cheek by Jowl / RSC associate Owen Horsley.
