Late autumn is a great time to get a close look at the botanical side of WWT London Wetland Centre. The Centre has been carefully planted with a variety of species that provide shelter and food for wildlife. Sloes, hawthorn berries and rosehips, for example, help to feed birds and small mammals throughout the winter.

During the walk, which lasts about 90 minutes, plant enthusiast Peter Day will identify species and explain their importance to our wildlife and the historical uses to which many have been put by man.

Limited places: please call 020 8409 4400 to book your place.
