Catering company Restaurant Associates is delighted to announce the launch of AD12 atT42, a 12 week pop up restaurant from acclaimed Michelin starred chef Anthony Demetre. Located in the high rise building Tower 42, AD12 atT42 will open on 1st October and offer an accessible modern bistro menu reflecting Demetre’s signature style at his London restaurants: Arbutus, Wild Honey and Les Deux Salons. Following the end of a successful partnership between Gary Rhodes that has spanned 10 years, the launch of AD12 atT42 marks the beginning of a new era for Restaurant Associates. The project leads the way for further collaborations with some of the UK’s most talented and exciting chefs. International restaurateur and chef Jason Atherton, who is behind some of London’s most high profile restaurants, is finalising plans to open a new restaurant in Tower 42 in spring 2014. With a series of highly regarded restaurants in Singapore, Shanghai and Hong Kong also under his belt, Atherton has established himself as one of the world’s most accomplished chefs.

Working closely with Anthony Demetre at AD12 atT42 will be head chef Patrick Powell who has worked in a number of esteemed restaurants in Ireland and in Australia. Powell began working with Demetre two years ago at Wild Honey. The contemporary menu will convey a less formal dining experience for Tower 42 guests, appealing to a broad range of foodies from London and beyond. The daily changing bistro menu will feature innovative and interesting dishes created from seasonal and high quality ingredients. Sample dishes include squid and mackerel 'burger' with Cornish razor clams; crisp pigs head with potato purée and pickled turnip; rabbit saddle and shoulder with roast carrot and autumn greens; London honey ice cream with honeycomb; and chocolate Aero bar with pears. Diners will also be able to choose from a list of carefully selected, accompanying wines served by the carafe, in line with Demetre’s other restaurants.

Anthony Demetre developed his culinary skills whilst working for some of the world’s leading restaurants and chefs, as well as at a range of informal establishments. He earned a Michelin star at Putney Bridge in South London before opening his own restaurant, Arbutus, followed by Wild Honey and most recently Les Deux Salons, which launched to critical acclaim, firmly establishing Demetre as one of London’s most distinguished chefs. He comments: “I am delighted to be collaborating with Restaurant Associates on a temporary restaurant at Tower 42. We will be offering popular dishes that reflect the style of Arbutus and Wild Honey whilst also bringing in some new and exciting contemporary dishes”.
