The Accessible Art Show takes places at Shapero Rare Books, London between December 5 and December 20, 2013.
Magnificent leather bound books and antiquarian prints will be accompanied by an exciting mixture of modern and contemporary paintings.
“We thought it would be a good idea to fling open our doors for some festive spirit for two weeks and offer an unexpected dimension to our shop with the Accessible Art Show,” said Bernard Shapero, owner of Shapero Rare Books.
There will be a selection of prints from the Art Nouveau and Deco periods and original paintings and drawings by major British artists such as Philip Sutton RA, Sir Terry Frost, Fred Yates, Sandra Blow and John Piper. Gerry Defries, an accountant by day and a painter by night, will be exhibiting landscapes of Hampstead Heath, Suffolk and the South of France.
“Gerry’s work quite literally flies off the wall,” reveals Vanessa Clewes Salmon, organiser of The Accessible Art Show, who has shown his work at previous exhibitions. “His work is really appealing.”
