As part of a new partnership, formed to promote international artists in London, Stratford Circus and Peter Conway Management are proud to announce that legendary jazz-rap group The Herbaliser will be performing live exclusively at the venue in east London on 6th December.

The group, fronted by Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba, are renowned for their unique blend of funk, hip-hop, rap and jazz as well as their unforgettable live shows. Formed more than 15 years ago, The Herbaliser continue to get bigger, stronger and better, releasing one acclaimed album after the other, including 1997's 'Blow Your Headphones' ("a textured, experimental valentine to US hip-hop" Rolling Stone) and 2002's 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' (which NME praised for its "tough, commanding rare grooves.")

Run by the Stratford Arts Trust charity and driven by their mission to inspire and develop young talent in London through collaborations with some of the best artists from across the world, Stratford Circus is one of the most exciting venues in East London. Situated in the heart of Stratford's vibrant cultural neighbourhood and a stone's throw away from the Queen Elizabeth Park, the hub of the London 2012 Olympic Games, the venue boasts a visionary artistic programme of dance, theatre, music and comedy.

Artistic ambassador for the venue, Paloma Faith, has praised Stratford Circus as "an incubator for young imaginations and if imagination is celebrated and nurtured it will provide the next generation of performance makers and audiences", and with such iconic acts as The Herbaliser performing there, the venue continues to succeed in its inspiring mission to promote talent across the cultural spectrum.

The Herbaliser have spent years traversing genres and collaborating with some iconic artists on the scene, from DJ Malachi to Roots Manuva and, more recently, vocalist Jessica Greenfield who helped the group delve back to their funk roots following a few years honing their DJ skills with their acclaimed mix album 'Herbal Blend' and a mix for Fabric.

The group have now found a harder, darker sound - evident on their most recent album 'There Were Seven' ("eclectic throughout, it's a buoyant return" 8/10 Clash). The Herbaliser's music is as vital as ever, rendering the prospect of their December show in Stratford an exciting one which cannot be missed.
