Amen Brother Present : Edan (Audio Visual DJ Set)

AMEN BROTHER is back for it's last London event of 2013 in the stylish surroundings of the Star of Bethnal Green for an evening of funk, breaks and psychedelia over two floors.

For this free event, we have a very special guest joining us in the way of genre defying (.../revering!) rap artist Edan Portnoy for a special AV set covering uptempo funk, breaks and rare psych cuts straight from the Boston native's vault.

EDAN {AV DJ SET}
Joining the fray is the humble magnificent himself, Edan, comes to London to showcase his new and exciting audio-visual dj set. Edan burst onto the scene with his vision of future primitive hip hop with his debut album, "Primitive Plus" showcasing his love for old school drum machines, distorted beat, classic hip hop, and the absurd.

A few years past and he was back with the follow up, "Beauty and the Beat". Where Edan’s past releases had hinted at a love for 60's psychedelia, Beauty and the Beat was a full on trip through colours, shape, fuzzed out beats and breaks, echo, reverb and more to create what is now considered a classic piece of modern psychedelic hip hop, embracing the past with an eye firmly on the future.
Edan is a world class DJ and performing grasing stages all over the world, including support slots for Public Enemy, All Tomorrows Parties and more. This AV set is the next step on the off-key, unique journey he has been crafting for himself over the past ten years.

LONG DISTANCE DAN
In support we will have Long Distance Dan, Amen Brother resident, crate digger, producer, hip hop fanatic, blogger and all-round nice guy, who celebrates upcoming debut 12”. The highly anticipated instrumental EP is a mix of raw, funky psychedelic beats, released on his own Dusted Industries label.

Both Edan and Long Distance Dan were huge influences on Amen Brother when we started it so we're very hyped for this school-night excursion!!
