National disability charity United Response is inviting the public to its annual Christmas carol service in the stunning surroundings of St Peter’s Church at Eaton Square on Wednesday 4th December at 6.30pm. The charity holds the annual event to celebrate the festive season, but this year’s service is extra special as the charity is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Londoners, locals and supporters are invited to join the charity for carols and mince pies.

The service will be a wonderful evening for adults and children alike, with beautiful singing from the much-acclaimed Seaford College Choir. In addition, Swanbank Music, a local theatre company, will entertain guests with a mix of modern and traditional Christmas music. As an added bonus, guests will be able to join in with performances by United Response’s deaf choir who will be teaching the audience how to sign their way through a chorus or two. Every year this is a highlight of the festive season for the audience.

This carol service marks the end of a 40th anniversary year which has seen the charity launch its biggest ever-creative project, Postcards from the Edges. People across the country sent in hundreds of creative postcards describing life and disability in the 21st century, and these went on to tour the country. The evening will be hosted by the charity’s president, Martyn Lewis CBE.
Martyn will also talk to specially invited guests about the charity’s historic year and its many achievements. Guests will include model Kelly Knox, winner of BBC Three’s Britain’s Missing Top Model, who will talk about the charity’s many triumphs and its anniversary year.
The service starts at 6.30pm and will be followed with refreshments in the function room of the church where guests will be able to meet carol singers and other guests.

All are welcome to this free-of-charge event and guests are asked to be in their seats by 6.15pm for a prompt start at 6.30pm.
