Following the success of last year's Come and Sing: Advent, we are inviting singers to join Matthew Morley and the Choir of St Bride's for a performance of Benjamin Britten's St Nicolas Cantata on Sunday 8th December.

With the help of Pickled Boys, sailors, orchestral whips, a girls chorus in the gallery, tenor soloist, chorus and orchestra, Britten takes us through the life and miracles of the patron saint of sailors and children (and the origin of today's Santa Claus).

Written with music of great colour and accessibility, it typifies Britten's genius for composing music for the whole community; even the audience get the chance to sing, so there's something for everyone!

Previous experience of singing in a choir will be an advantage but not a prerequisite!

Vocal Scores will be provided.

If you would like more information please e-mail

[email protected].

If you don't fancy singing but would like to listen, the workshop will culminate in a concert performance at 6:30pm, advance ticket price £10 (£15 on the door).
