Sculptures by Salvador Dalí, one of the leading artists of the surrealist movement, are on display in London.
The exhibition titled, ‘Of Time & Space’, is made up of limited edition sculptures by Dalí and will be displayed at Castle Fine Art, Bruton Street near Green Park and Bond Street.
Dali created the original maquette (model) to be used as the basis for the sculptures. The marquettes, which were inspired by Dalí’s paintings and created by the artist have allowed for the bronze sculptures to be born. All seven sculptures that make up the collection were created using a method called the ‘Lost Wax’ process, which dates back as far as 5,000 B.C.
The sculptures created and on display at Castle Fine Art, Bruton Street include: ‘Dance of Time’, which comprises of three sculptures, ‘Space Elephant’ and ‘Space Venus’ and these sculptures feature some of the most iconic symbolism from Dalí’s career.
The exhibition is on display now, and Castle Fine Art, Bruton Street is open Monday to Sunday, exact opening times can be found on the Castle Galleries website.
