'Sculpture in the Home' is a unique exhibition, combining interior design & sculpture. Pangolin London created this concept with Carter Wells, a new interior designer agency. They aim to highlight the relevance of modern sculpture in the home and its beauty within period and contemporary interior design. Specially created interiors bring the concept to life, with the furniture, accessories and artworks being available for purchase.

Created to celebrate the innovative series of touring exhibitions of the same name curated by the Arts Council of England in the 1940s and 1950s, the exhibition revisits the original concept and aims of these pioneering shows.

The gallery space at Pangolin London will be transformed into a series of domestic settings, combining post-war era furnishings with modern sculpture in this celebration of British art & design. Carter Wells, enlisted one of its represented interior design practices, Amelia McNeil Design, to transform the space using iconic pieces of furniture, textiles and sculpture to transport the public back to one of the most exciting periods of change for the world of interior design - the 50’s and 60’s. This was a time when a new post war, post austerity generation embraced the interiors of their homes as an extension of their personal style. Exciting and interesting pieces were mass made for the first time and available to all.

Rarely seen altogether, Amelia McNeil will combine highly collectable pieces from designers such as Ernest Race and fabrics from the Sanderson archive alongside modern sculpture in three complete rooms within the gallery.
