We are excited to announce the launch of our female-friendly one-stop shop for martial arts for women at The Place dance studios in Euston over the weekend of 17/18 May.

The Energy Centre offers a a range of styles from traditional lineages of Tai Chi and Capoeira to modern hybrid forms such as Nia that incorporate martial arts, dance and sensory work; and Budokon, which fuses elements of yoga and martial arts practices. All will help women to look, and most importantly, feel fantastic. The Place has beautiful centrally-located studios with fully-sprung wooden floors and mirrors.

Founder Eisha Karol wants to encourage more women to take up martial arts practices and experience the immense benefits to health and wellbeing from this form of training. “We have created an enticing line-up of classes in an inspiring environment, a far cry from the sweaty basement image often associated with martial arts training,” she says. She was offered support to launch this venture by social enterprise funder UnLtd while studying for a master’s degree in music at SOAS.

Martial arts help recharge oneself and maintain peak physical and positive mental condition. They also increase confidence and self-sufficiency by building one’s feeling of safety and wellbeing through the teaching of self-defence.

As a powerful tool of self-transformation, martial arts help people create and maintain an open and flexible mindset, strategic thinking and encourage good manners, respect and ethics whilst encouraging creativity and being solution-oriented.

The benefits of martial arts for women include:
- Enhanced Energy
- Fitness
- Strategic Thinking
- Resilience
- Empowerment
