The world’s first ever tweet-powered Emergency Theatre launches in London today, a pop-up installation that allows members of the public to choose a scene inspired by the work of our emergency services and see it brought to life by actors on the Southbank.

The Emergency Theatre allows commuters and tourists to choose from scenarios which include an emotionally charged maternity scene and an unexpected fire breaking out by simply tweeting the #EmergencyTheatre hashtag along with their choice of scene.

The chosen scenario is then recreated by actors, with onlookers able to enjoy the action from hospital stretchers for a truly immersive experience.

The one-day only event showcases the invaluable work carried our by uniformed professionals and offers a glimpse of the real-life emergency situations policemen, doctors and firemen experience every day.

The Emergency Theatre was created to celebrate the launch of the two-week long Emergency Services season on UKTV channel REALLY (Freeview & YouView 17, Sky 248, Virgin 267) – starting tonight at 7pm.
