JW3 is delighted to host three nights of Incubator Theatre’s hip-hop opera, ‘The City’. An electrifying and highly original Film Noir-inspired fable, blending rap, hip-hop, beat-boxing and jazz singing; Humphrey Bogart meets Jay-Z.
This is a new addition to our programme as a result of the show's cancellation from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival following protests, and we are happy to be able to support Incubator Theatre performing at JW3. The show is coming to JW3 in partnership with the Embassy of Israel and the Zionist Federation.
Chairman of JW3’s Board of Trustees, Michael Goldstein, said: “We’re pleased to be able to help Incubator Theatre by providing a London venue for three performances of their acclaimed show.”
JW3 is a community and arts centre, embracing all things Jewish. It is the brainchild of Dame Vivien Duffield, inspired by the Jewish Community Centre (JCC) in New York. Designed by Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, JW3 houses a 270-seat auditorium, a 60-seat cinema, a restaurant and bar, a demonstration kitchen, dance studios, classrooms and medical clinics.
