We all know about the importance of exercising regularly but how often do we think about our mental and emotional fitness? Stress Reduction Through Mindfulness is an 8-week course where you can learn to manage stress through mindfulness meditation. This course is helpful for learning to manage general stress, anxiety, pain. It has a strong evidence base and is recommended by NICE to help prevent relapse of depression.

Many people who complete this course report benefits such as an increased ability to relax, greater energy and enthusiasm for life, heightened self-confidence and assertiveness, and an increased ability to cope more effectively with stress. They also find that they are kinder towards themselves and others, and more accepting of whatever situation they find themselves in.

The course fee includes course handbook, guided audio meditations, 8 weekly 2-hour classes and an optional all-day retreat session on Saturday 27th February 2016.

The course is taught by Anna Black who has a Masters in Mindfulness-based Approaches to Health. Anna has been teaching the 8-week course since January 2006 and has done extensive training with the Centre for Mindfulness in the UK (Bangor) as well as with teachers from the Center for Mindfulness in the USA. She is the author of Living in the Moment (Cico Books 2012) an introduction to using mindfulness meditation in everyday life, and Mindfulness at Work (2014) and A Year of Living Mindfully (2015) Anna also teachers mindfulness in organisations.
