Turn the clock back to the mid-noughties in London. The cold, bleak inner-city tower blocks were the location for the germination of what has risen to become the biggest musical renaissance of 2015.

Grime had been born, and it all came about in the midst of a garage resurgence thanks to the likes of Heartless and Pay As U Go, who were at large in the underground community playing out on pirate radio and low profile raves.

Foundation at The Nest is a two-part series showcasing the evolution of grime from its roots in UK garage. Across a fortnight in January, legendary duo DJ Luck and MC Neat and grime originators Newham Generals will be paired with two up and comers that have injected fresh blood into both scenes of late, Madam X and Amy Becker.
