Join the wonderful musicians of Mali’s Trio Da Kali at a lively music and song workshop led by ethnomusicologist Lucy Durán.
A chance to learn and participate in some of the beautiful songs from the Mande griot repertoire. You may bring your own instruments, such as guitars (bring a capo) or kora (which should be tuned to F), or djembe and/or other West African percussion. Singers are welcome, and you will also have an opportunity to try your hand at the balafon, ngoni and percussion.
Suitable for all abilities and ages 8 and above.
Presented in collaboration with the Aga Khan Music Initiative.
