Thorntons Continental Taste Journey

Fancy enjoying a Thorntons chocolate in the perfect environment? Thorntons are hosting a free, pop up Taste Pod to offer fans the chance to to enjoy the re-launched Continental range like never before.

Thorntons, Britain’s best-loved chocolate maker, are teaming up with culinary architects Bompas & Parr to delight chocolate lovers with a world-first. The taste profiling and sensory ‘Taste Pod’ will create the perfect chocolate Taste Journey for it’s much-loved Continental collection as five new flavours are added to the relaunched range.

The recently opened Thorntons store in Westfield Stratford will be home to a bespoke ‘sensory accumulator’ created by Bompas & Parr for one day only.

The pod will take chocolate fans on a taste journey, heightening the senses in order to create the perfect chocolate eating experience. Visitors will first go through a brief taste profiling to match them to their perfect balance of flavours including salty, sweet and bitter. They can then enjoy their chocolate inside the Taste Pod, which will provide ambient lighting, music and scents to enhance the tasting experience.

The Continental range was crafted by Thorntons first head chocolatier Walter Willen. Introduced in 1954, it remains one of the brand’s most popular ranges, and this year sees the introduction of new flavours including Apricot Danish and Salted Caramel Praline. Inspired by Willen’s travels in Europe and evolved by generations of chocolate makers over 60 years, the Continental range is the perfect gift for chocolate lovers, offering a taste journey through new flavours, ingredients and textures.
