“When the iron bird flies and horses run on wheels, the Tibetan peole will be scattered like ants across the face of the earth” – Guru Padmasambhava, 8th century.

Since the Chinese invasion in 1951, many Tibetans have fled their homes to reach safety in neighbouring countries. Today, 150,000 Tibetans live in exile and more are escaping Tibet every year. Many of these exiled Tibetans are children.

Artist Simone Sandelson has worked with young Tibetans in Dharamsala, to give them voice through artwork. Their paintings reveal their feelings about life in exile and their fears and hopes for the future. Their art is a poignant reminder of the extreme difficulties Tibetans have to endure in Tibet and in exile.

Organized by Tibet Relief Fund.
