BRAIN INJURY SURVIVORS PRESENT ARTISTIC IMPRESSIONS OF A SHARED EXPERIENCE

Brain injury charity Headway East London hosts first group exhibition featuring the work of 30 artists from its art studio

More than 30 artists are celebrating the launch of a brand new art exhibition which showcases the talents of local brain injury survivors supported by charity Headway East London.

Running from 30 November until 23 February at Stratford Circus Arts Centre, the work of Submit to Love Studios asks visitors to consider how far can one life-changing incident be seen in the artistic work you create?

The charity's talented collective of self-taught artists each take different creative paths to produce works that are unguarded, emotive and informed by a truly unique vision.

This public exhibition - the studio's first - celebrates the achievements of Headway East London's members and the personal journeys undertaken since their injuries.

Generously sponsored by Hyphen Law; the company's Director Christine Bunting had the opportunity to visit the studio recently and was deeply impressed by the artwork. She says:

We jumped at the opportunity to be involved in this event. The work created by these artists is not only hugely inspiring, but also a thrilling and thought-provoking exhibition of their collective talents.

Survivors of brain injury are often excluded from society, have lost skills, occupations and are unable to communicate with the world as they used to. Art offers an outlet to re-define how they communicate and unlock self-expression.
