It's the annual event in which only the flippest of MPs, Lords and media types compete to see who will batter the opposition to lift the Rehab Parliamentary Pancake Race Magnificent Tin Cup.

The pancake madness is in aid of the disability charity, Rehab Group, which provides life-changing services in the areas of vocational rehabilitation and social care support, particularly for those living with an acquired brain injury.

2016 saw the MPs' team emerge champions so the pressure will be on to make it two-in-a-row, while the Lords and media teams will want to leave the MPs with egg on their faces. The media team last flipped to victory in 2015, with the Lords' team triumphing in 2014.

The relay race, which this year celebrates 20 years, is over in minutes. It sees hundreds of spectators survey the participants as they get ready for the off, while hordes of international media vigilantly report on the dramatic proceedings.

Among the well-known TV faces to have participated in the race in years gone by have been ITV News' Alistair Stewart, Sky News' Adam Boulton, the BBC's James Lansdale, and Channel 4 News' Gary Gibbon.
