UCLU Musical Theatre Society is proud to present SWEET CHARITY.
Meet Charity Hope Valentine, a girl with a big heart and an even bigger habit of falling for the wrong guy. Her tumultuous life choices spill out onto the streets of 1960’s New York City in a whirlwind of dance halls, movie stars and the Rhythm of Life Church. On her search for love, a chance encounter in a lift sees Charity in sight of the happiness she’s long imagined for herself... but does her dream match up with who she is and the life she wants to lead?
Be entertained by Charity’s raucous dance hall girlfriends, the movie star who hides her in a wardrobe and the phoney evangelist claiming to have discovered the meaning of life as they sweep across the stage of the Shaw this February. Wonderful musical numbers include Big Spender, If My Friends Could See Me Now, Too Many Tomorrows, There’s Gotta Be Something Better Than This and Rhythm of Life. A comedy in every sense of the word. This is NOT a show to be missed!
