We, nowadays, strive for a just world. A free world. A peaceful world... What's the first step you ask? We say: a more gender equal world!

Throughout history, different social movements emerged as a result of white patriarchal oppression. Time has passed; the laws have changed, reforms were made but the mindsets? Just a little.

Why? Gender stereotypes.

Gender stereotypes are neither good nor bad, they just are inaccurate. They create ridiculous categories: who cries and who doesn't, who works and who doesn't, who is good with babies and who isn't, who wears pink and who wears blue, who can land a high-paying position and who can't ... And who is a man and who is a woman.

GenderEd 2017 is a conference that goes further than explaining these stereotypes. It shows you that they are mere illusions. They can be debunked. And what's more, they can be defied.

Our speakers did just that. They defied what was there for centuries. They joined a fight that has been on for almost a century. And in more than one way.

We are proud to introduce our 4 speakers for this year:

- Raquel De Vicente, director of resources at the European Parliament’s Directorate-General for Internal Policies;

- Patrick White, Innovation Manager at Freshminds;

- Rebecca Collins, CEO of The Great Initiative;

- Ben Hurst, project coordinator at The Great Initiative.

ATTENTION: MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER ON EVENTBRITE OR YOU WON'T BE ALLOWED ENTRY TO THE EVENT. THANKS.

More details about the speakers and the conference program will be available soon.
