Acara Presents; Our first London show of 2017!

This one will be a night of live music dedicated to women everywhere who have fought fearlessly, suffered and survived the biggest trials & tribulations, chased their dreams against all odds, served others selflessly, loved unconditionally and expressed themselves wholeheartedly. Women who never gave up, kept their lights on and came out victorious every step of the way.

In the light of this, we are hoping to help raise money for The Helen Bamber Foundation whose work supports refugees and asylum seekers who have experienced extreme human cruelty, such as torture and human trafficking. Ms Helen Bamber OBE founded this charity with the sole purpose to provide care, safety and dignity to those who had nowhere else to turn. Whether they had suffered state sponsored torture, or had been brutalised by criminal gangs, trafficked for labour or sexual exploitation, or had suffered prolonged domestic violence.

Performing on this evening in support of our cause, are four incredibly talented women whose individualities and music speak volumes about our beliefs and the theme of this event.

Aphty Khea
Presenting herself as an invented creature rather than an artist in the traditional sense, Khea is a sonic healer and has travelled to us from a parallel galaxy, the offspring of a sonic deity and a chameleon humanoid. Consistently stunning her earthbound audi- ences into blissful meditation with her mesmerising live shows, Khea is fast earning herself a meteoric reputation as a live performer.

Hattie Marsh
Hattie is an up and coming haunting alternative/folk artist, who writes and performs original material, her music is a mix of powerful, radiant vocals with dark beautiful lyrics giving a sense of honesty. Her key influences include Joni Mitchel, Nirvana, and Sheila Chandra.

Atlanta Mae
Atlanta Mae is a singer-songwriter from South London. Her music is a product of all the places she hails from. Born in London her music reflects the urban sound escaping this city, but regular visits to the Caribbean to visit family have influenced her sound adding a sprinkle of island flavour.

Val Maugenest Official
Val Maugenest moved to London from the Netherlands in 2011 to study music and immerse herself in the (London) music scene. Taking the time to develop her original sound and songs, Val finished writing and recording her debut EP in early 2016 and released the ‘20/20’ EP on March 28th 2016. Responses to the '20/20' EP have been overwhelmingly positive and gained Val some great (industry) attention and praise, as well as live performance opportunities at among other places Ronnie Scott's & Century Club Soho. Val is currently working on new material and some very special collaborations set to be released in 2017.

Please come and show your love and support, at this beautiful and intimate venue owned also by a woman with extraordinary creative vision. It will be a fun night out with quality music by quality artists. #relove #forwomenbywomen
