Dare You Face Jekyll and Hyde

Experience the dark side of the human psyche this Easter with The London Dungeon’s brand new show "Dare You Face Jekyll and Hyde", running for a limited time only. The new show tells the curious true tale of Richard Mansfield, the fine Shakespearean actor who was the lead in The Lyceum theatre’s infamous production of “The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde”.

Guests will be transported backstage to London’s Lyceum Theatre in 1888 for a unique tour with their guide ‘Cartwright’. They will learn all about how the play’s tremendous success became its ultimate downfall, thanks to Mr Mansfield’s doomed and scarily realistic portrayal of the Jekyll and Hyde characters.

The guide will reveal how Mr Mansfield was so convincing in his portrayal of Hyde that the public reported him to the police as a suspect in the ongoing and famous ‘Ripper’ murders. Guests will need to keep their wits about them as their tour starts to take a dark turn….but will they face it…or simply run and ‘Hyde’?

Alongside the spine-chilling tale of Jekyll and Hyde, the experience brings to life 1,000 years of London’s dark history with ample amounts of jumps and scares thrown in. Stories of Sweeney Todd, Guy Fawkes and even the Great Fire of London will deliver the ultimate Easter day out.

The London Dungeon has teamed up with top YouTube star and makeup artist Roxxsaurus to design the looks for Come Face to Face with Jekyll and Hyde. The vlogger is taking on the role of Creative Director and will be at The London Dungeon on the morning of 1st April to meet and greet fans, whilst giving expert makeup tips and tricks.
