The Gruffalo Suprises Children On Trains From Waterloo To Chessington

Chessington World of Adventures Resort and South West Trains launch a ‘Gruffalo takeover’ of services from London Waterloo to Chessington South

· Children taking the train from London Waterloo to Chessington South will be surprised today by The Gruffalo* on an exclusive ‘train takeover’
· To excite families on their way to the Resort, train conductors are reading the much loved children's book on select services throughout the day

Wednesday 12th April: Today, children and parents making their way from London Waterloo to Chessington South will be surprised by The Gruffalo, which has taken over services throughout the day to mark launch of The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure, the world's first Gruffalo-themed ride, at Chessington World of Adventures Resort.

The unique experience launches today in a partnership between Chessington and South West Trains, and will see train conductors on select services reading The Gruffalo to families, getting them ready for the adventure that awaits at the Resort.

Tim Harrison-Jones, Divisional Director at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, said: "What better way to get our guests excited about the arrival of The Gruffalo at Chessington than with a reading of the much-loved book on their journey to visit us?

"The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure has proven extremely popular with guests since it opened last month, and we hope that everyone who experiences the special service today enjoys the exciting start to their wild adventure here."
