With Each Passing Moment

RISEgallery is proud to present its first ever photography exhibition. With Each Passing Moment is a group exhibition comprising a selection of prominent art photographers.

From the photojournalistic New York street scenes of William Klein in the 1950s to Hiroshi Sugimoto’s series of abandoned theatres exploring the transience of life to Susan Derges’ cameraless photograms of the subtleties of the natural environment.

With a cross section of works from 20th century distinguished photographers who have shaped the landscape of the art form to contemporary artists the exhibition explores one of the primary purposes of the medium; its ability to de-familiarise and immortalize the every day object or fleeting moment which escapes the attention of the naked eye. The exhibition aims to bring to focus photography’s ability, in the words of Susan Derges, ‘to speak of the invisible rather than to record the visible’.

The exhibition features selected works by William Klein, Susan Derges, Helmut Newton, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Steve McCurry, Ralph Gibson, Maurizio Catellan, Luis Lazo, Tim Strange and Seamus Nicolson.
