“It’s not rocket science you know” Is such a cliche.

The British Interplanetary Society is offering a one-day introduction which assumes absolutely no knowledge of physics, space science or rocket science. Our excellent presenters will give talks covering the basics of astronautics starting from “Why can’t we simply fly an aeroplane to space?” through to GPS, LEO and even the chances of meeting E.T.

One of the highlights of the day with be a presentation from former NASA astronaut Cady Coleman, speaking exclusively at this event, will be available to meet and greet budding rocket scientists following her talk.

Prepared to be blown away and dazzle friends, family and teachers with your newly acquired knowledge. In recognition of your attendance you will receive a certificate by the British Interplanetary Society signed by the BIS President to proudly hang on your wall.

Arrive early at 08.30am to view space artifacts, books and art in an exhibition outside of the Faraday Theatre.

The event will start at 09.30am and run until 18.30pm with 15 short interactive talks, covering everything from how to build a spacecraft, life in space and how to get to Mars plus much more.

The event will conclude at 18.30pm with the presentation of attendance certificates.

Please note the event is only suitable for children aged 8 and above.
