Mishkin Fitzgerald is the Brighton-based singer and pianist best known for her work in alt-classical punk outfit Birdeatsbaby. Born in London to a church minister and mathematician, the singer was influenced first by church hymns and classical music, then later by alternative artists such as Nick Cave, Kate Bush and Patti Smith. With a keen interest in poetry, philosophy (and all things a bit gothic) she has created a sound that is distinctive, fragile and unapologetic.

“Seraphim” is Mishkin’s second studio album, co-produced with Forbes Coleman (Audiobeach Studios Brighton), and features big orchestral pop tracks like “You Drown With Me”, stripped back acoustic piano songs “This Town” and even some electronica with “The Right Time”. It also features a break-up duet “Strangers” with Benjamin Bloom (rock theatre singer) and a gospel choir on religiously tinged “Deep In The Water”. This record showcases Fitzgerald’s finest work yet, an artist who has truly grown into herself and is unafraid of going against the flow, in order to write heartfelt, genuine and original music.
"Think a beautifully-wrought, mournful take on Patrick Wolf and Regina Spector via mid-period Depeche Mode" - Marc Burrows, The Quietus
"Her vocal ability alongside her sheer instrumental talent makes her performances unique" - Rock Industry Magazine
"Stunning, frighteningly talented" – BBC Sussex
