On Wednesday 17th May, ahead of the Chelsea Flower Show, low cost airline and holiday company, Monarch will unveil a giant floral plane at Victoria Station.

Measuring nearly 15-foot-long and 15 foot-wide, the plane will be made from approaching 10,000 flowers native to Monarch’s new flight and holiday destinations, which include honeysuckle grown in Stockholm, sunflowers from Porto, lavender from the fields of Zagreb and bougainvillea from Valencia.

Flight crew will hand out hundreds of free posies to members of the public after new research revealed Brits think giving someone a huge bunch of flowers is one of the ‘Top 5 nicest gestures to brighten up someone’s day’.

And it’s worth turning up with a smile, as every hour Monarch will be giving away one pair of flights to the friendliest commuters as part of its ‘Year of Nice’ initiative, promoting the traditional values of chivalry, courtesy and respect.

Monarch’s blooming marvellous creation took a painstaking 207 hours to create and consists of approximately 10,000 flowers delicately attached by hand to create the floral work of art.

Members of the public can head down between 8am and 7pm.
