Calling all culture vultures and history aficionados, the bespoke Discover Deptford history walks invite the curious to experience a FREE guided 2-hour walk around the area, exploring the history and redevelopment of Deptford’s station and market yard seeing London’s oldest listed railway structure and Deptford Creek. Learn why Peter The Great, Christopher Marlowe, Samuel Pepys, Victorian poverty-mapper Charles Booth and Tahitian servant Mydidee all visited Deptford and understand its rich multicultural and maritime history underpinning one of London’s most vibrant districts. Led by Sean Patterson, a RADA trained actor and walking tour guide with an MA in London Studies from QMUL, the FREE guided tour starts and ends at Deptford Market Yard, so walkers will be spoilt for choice for food and drink options, having worked up an appetite on the tour.
