National Gallery dining experiences in association with Leffe

Leffe has partnered with the world-famous National Gallery to provide a rare opportunity for the public to savour the moment this summer and discover how food can be paired with beer. Between Friday 19th May and Friday 4th August, the Gallery will be hosting a secret bar, an experiential feast and a round of picnics on the Portico. Guests to the events will have the chance to experience delicious Leffe beer and gourmet food pairings such as Leffe Brune cured salmon, caviar, seaweed pickles and serrano ham to name a few. Tickets for all of the events will be available to those aged 18 and over on the Time Out website.

The ‘Feast Your Eyes’ event will be held in three of the main picture galleries where guests will be taken on a culinary journey; sampling Leffe beer and food pairings with dishes inspired by the paintings.

Guests at the event will be amongst the first people in the UK to try Leffe’s brand new beer, Leffe Enkel. Brewed at 4.5% ABV, Leffe Enkel is a delicious Abbey beer inspired by traditional recipes. With refreshing fruit and bitter spices, this is the perfect mid-week drink.

The ‘Feast Your Eyes’ menu is being specially created by London restaurateur Oliver Peyton, who will be there in person to explain the dishes. To complement the menu, Jonny Tyson, Beer Sommelier from Leffe, will be on hand to talk guests through the beer and food pairings, including sampling the new Leffe Enkel.

The Picnic on the Portico of the National Gallery offers a breathtaking location to watch the world go by – the perfect place for a picnic with a difference where you can savour the summer vibes. Beer experts will be there to suggest beers that will perfectly complement any picnic. Guests will also be able to try out some craft activities as you enjoy the view overlooking Trafalgar Square. Pre-packaged picnic hampers with menus inspired by the art collection will also available to purchase in advance for those looking for a more curated experience.

The series of events will commence at London’s National Gallery from Friday 19 May and run until Friday 4 August. Kicking things off will be the Secret Bar on Friday the 19th, with Feast Your Eyes on Wednesday the 24th May and Picnic on the Portico ending on Friday the 4th August. National Gallery members will be emailed with specific offers for these ticketed events.
