This action packed one-off taster day on Saturday 10 June is designed to give beginners an introduction to folk instruments and folk music from the British Isles. Perhaps you’ve been thinking about learning something new or you would like to refresh your skills after many years? Our friendly folk artist-tutors will lead you through an accessible and inspiring day.

On offer in the morning are 75 minute workshops in:

• Accordion – Paul Hutchinson
• Bodhrán & percussion – Joe Danks
• Fiddle – Beth Gifford
• Guitar – David Delarre

On offer in the afternoon are 75 minute workshops in:

• Melodeon - Hazel Askew
• Banjo - Ed Hicks
• Song - Laurel Swift
• Penny whistles - Sarah Allen

At the end of the day there’ll be a chance to let off steam in a short ceilidh, with performance spots from some of the tutors, so bring comfortable dancing shoes!

For anyone 12 years and over (those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult).

No previous experience of music or folk required! Instruments will be available to borrow on the day.
