Discover brand new literature from East and Southeast Asia. Six translators will introduce you to the books that they’re most excited about: magical realism from Taiwan, a sci-fi love story and an exploration of recent history via art restoration from South Korea, short stories focusing on the female experience from Malaysia, a funny novel about death from Japan, and queer poetry from Indonesia. Deborah Smith (Tilted Axis Press) and Euan Monaghan (Structo Press) will be on hand to judge the quick-fire translation pitches.

PEN Presents is English PEN’s initiative to help UK publishers to discover – and publish – the most exciting books from around the world, and to support literary translators in their development as advocates for international literature.

In partnership with Asia Literary Review and Free Word Centre.
