Join Libby Purves in conversation with journalist, broadcaster, political author and former Strictly contestant John Sergeant as he discusses his distinguished career and reveals a passion for India's railways and Britain's canals. John Sergeant has reported from 25 countries as a BBC journalist, often travelling with the Prime Minister during the 21 years he worked in Westminster. He was the BBC's acting war correspondent in a number of key postings, reporting from Saigon and Washington during the Vietnam War, and from Paris after the 1981 election of Mitterrand.
