Smirnoff presents #ChooseLove, a selection of artwork from six contemporary artists turning words of online hate into works of love.

A recent study by LGBT+ charity Galop found that 1 in 3 people who identify as part of the LGBT+ community are still experiencing abuse targeting their sexual orientation. Much of the abuse is committed via online social media.

Throughout Pride season, Smirnoff has been monitoring online social media feeds to identify when members of the LGBT+ community have received abuse. Working with artists Becca Human, Matt Lyon, MaryLou Faure, Ricardo Bessa, Charles Hutton and Lucas Levitan, Smirnoff has been responding to these messages of hate with an artwork of love, posting to Twitter and sending directly to the victims of the online abuse.

On 6th- 7th July, Smirnoff will be showcasing the resulting artwork in an East London exhibition. Between the hours of 10am to 8pm you are invited to view the artist’s creations, and celebrate how powerful it can be when we #chooselove in the face of hate and adversity.

The exhibition is a part of the Pride in London Festival - a series of events that raise awareness of LGBT+ issues to campaign for the freedom for the community to live their lives on an equal footing.
