Friarwood Discovery Tasting in Partnership with Sushi Shop

Sushi may typically be paired with Sake but Friarwood is teaming up with Sushi Shop to explore pairing the Japanese staple with the fine wines that are exclusive to Friarwood. France’s iconic sushi boutique has started to make quite a name for itself here in the UK, with partnerships with creative minds such as the tattoo artist Scott Campbell, and this summer the launch of its limited-edition Summer Box. Founded in 1998 by two French entrepreneurs, Grégory Marciano and Hervé Louis, the brand developed its franchise from 2006 with the arrival of its third director Adrien de Schompré. In all its stores, there is a wide range of Japanese and Californian-inspired sushi, maki, rolls, spring rolls, sashimi, tartares, etc. Friarwood’s team has tried and tested several of Sushi Shops traditional creations and paired them perfectly with four exquisite wines including: the 2014 Vignol White, 2012 Salvi Morellino Di Scansano and the 2015 Cave Ribeauville Pinot Blanc Collection. The evening will not only be educational to those who attend but also inspire individuals with new pairing techniques.
