Sam and Claire are in love... with acting. When Claire, a naïve novice, gives the worst Shakespearean performance ever seen, Sam, her bitter and disillusioned boyfriend, makes it his mission to teach her the brutal truth about life as an actor. But all is not as it seems. What starts as a darkly comic study of two failed actors trapped in a toxic relationship gradually unravels into a surreal satire on the self-importance of acting, and questions the worth of theatre itself.

This brand-new play is both a self-deprecating depiction of the pretension of acting, but is also an honest and sympathetic look at the desperation of unemployed artists. It questions why people devote their lives to a lifestyle filled with failure and rejection, reveals the inequality and sexism within the industry, and examines the bizarre contradiction of expressing yourself by pretending to be someone else.

Loosely based on personal experiences, and filled with humour, humanity and many surprising twists and turns, this is a show that both celebrates and critiques the absurdity of theatre. It's a show to be enjoyed by
actors and non-actors alike. It may even change your entire perception of theatre.
