Dating service Match is set to launch a Central London pop-up stocked to the brim with eligible bachelors. Single females who are holding on for a hero this summer are encouraged to take control of their dating game and check out the ‘Model Males’ selection of 3D-printed action figures, all modelled on real-life Match members.

Match’s latest initiative is designed to encourage single women to make the first move by offering another unique way for them to meet a like-minded partner. This pop-up with a difference will showcase some of the great guys on Match, and was created in response to the rise of dating practices such as ghosting (vanishing without a trace) and breadcrumbing (leading someone on).

Using 3D printing technology, a selection of Match’s most eligible gents have been turned into miniature versions of themselves (each standing at around seven inches tall) and will be displayed in the pop-up, ready for single ladies to browse and take home.

Visitors to Model Males, located on Thayer Street in Central London, will receive a complimentary glass of prosecco upon arrival (on a ‘first come, first served’ basis) and get to know more about their potential dates by reading their profile information (name, age, occupation, and their best qualities) on the box of each bespoke figurine. If a single lady sees a man she thinks is a good match for her, she’ll be able to get in touch with the real-life member by following a link on the packaging.

Model Males will be open to the public from Wednesday 2nd August to Friday 4th August. The shop will be open from 11.30pm – 3pm. It will initially open as a pilot scheme in London, with the potential to rollout to different cities across the UK at a later date.

Match has opened Model Males to celebrate the launch of its new ‘Match Badge’ initiative, which encourages men on the site to pledge to behave respectfully to women. To create the unique dating experience, Match has teamed up with Mini You, a 3D printing specialist based in East London.

Match’s dating expert Vicki Pavitt commented: “Dating should always be fun, but it can be tricky at times. There is an ever-growing list of different terms used to label the negative side of dating, but we should stop focussing on those and start celebrating the amazing single men and women who are looking for the right person. The idea behind Model Males is to showcase the brilliant and reliable men that wouldn’t even think of ‘ghosting’ a date. There are still plenty of gents out there and this is a way of giving women the power and opportunity to find their very own Model Male to take home.”
