Foreign Body is the beautifully crafted debut solo show by Imogen Butler-Cole about hope, healing and forgiveness after sexual assault. Uniquely told from the perspective of the survivor and perpetrator of the same assault, using a charged combination of verbatim, physical theatre and a stunning original soundtrack, Foreign Body is a brave, liberating and life-affirming story.
Foreign Body aims to destigmatise dialogue around sexual violence and offers audience members the opportunity to explore the play’s themes through a post show Q&A alongside sector specialists.
In spring of 2017, Foreign Body premiered during Southbank Centre’s London WOW Festival then toured to Northampton; Coventry Equalities Festival; Rich Mix London, Hamilton House Bristol and Dhaka Bangladesh. The play has been developed at renowned feminist theatre festival Calm Down Dear, RADA Festival, Exeter Bike Shed, Hamilton House, Bristol and Off Beat Oxford.
