We at Cinema Fantastica search the dusty vaults, bringing to light unique and groundbreaking films that best provoke thought, emotion and entertains.
This Friday we bring to you George Lucas' first feature film (based on his own student film Electronic Labyrinth: THX 1138 4EB) made four years earlier. It captures the sentiment of the literary dystopias of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four or Aldous Huxley's Brave New World more than any official adaptation ever could. The movie depicts a stark, eerie future of a brow beaten, shaven-headed populace and its clinically white subterranean metropolis.
Come for the film, but stay for large group discussion on the film's meaning and themes. Ticket includes drinks (incl wine) and snacks.
